So you’ve finally decided to pursue your passion as a pilot? Your next – and most important – step right now is to pick the best aviation school. Find out how to get into the best flight academies out there!

What factors are key to selecting the best aviation school?

What motivates you to become a pilot is your passion to fly. Therefore, you should find in the aviation school you choose what supports this passion and turns it into an actual career.

And what makes a flying school successful is how well-equipped it is.

One such example is the simulator system, which is at the highest level of accuracy, simulating the real flight process in such a way that the students understand every aspect of the training.

You should also learn more about the types of aircraft the flying school has to offer by looking at the types of aircraft they have in their fleet. Because the school should have several different types of aircraft in order to gain experience by trying various aircraft while learning.

And you can see that Eagle Air school has 8 different types of aircraft!

It is essential to take time to reflect before choosing a flying school. Consider the most important factors you will seek after applying for training.

Think about your goal, because your goal in flying will determine the type of training you need and where to find it. And this takes us to the next important factor that determines the right school for you: the location.

When choosing the right flight school, you must consider its location for you and for the rest of the world as well.

One of the most important advantages of aviation is that you can travel to many countries.

And if the school’s location contributes to this, then you will benefit greatly during and after your training.

The third most important aspect of choosing a school after the type of training and location is the cost.

When you are applying for a flight school, you must consider the cost criteria. For example, you should make sure that the costs reflect how many flying hours you will get.

This is because the more hours you fly, the better your performance and the more experience you have, which leads to an increase in your flying level.

What should you find in the best flight instructor?

After starting your training, you’re going to catch yourself making mistakes. This is great because it gives you the opportunity to correct them. However, there are some mistakes that a beginner can’t catch on their own. This is where your flight instructor comes in. You need a CFI that corrects your mistakes right away before they turn into habits.

As we mentioned earlier, a good flight instructor is a vital part of your training as a pilot. Usually, you get assigned a CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) by them. However, here are some things you should take into account before settling on a CFI.

Why did the CFI decide to teach and what are their goals?

You can categorize most CFI’s in two categories: the first category includes those who are doing it for their future, they’re probably aiming for a job at an airline at some point. The second category is doing it for the money, they’ve basically earned the license and are now using it to earn a living.

Monitor how the CFI responds to your mistakes:

You’re a beginner and it’s natural to make mistakes. See how the CFI reacts to your mistakes. Will they ignore them or will they bring them to light and tell you how to correct them?

Focus on how they answer your questions:

Many times, you’ll stumble upon those who hate responding to questions. You need a CFI that’ll let you ask freely in order to perfectly understand the matter at hand.

There’s plenty to consider before picking the most suitable aviation school for you. We’ve compiled a list of all the key points that make up the best option.

What are the training programs offered by professional aviation schools?

To obtain an aviation license, you must complete some flying programs. But which programs should you apply for? What license will you receive?

These schools must offer several aviation programs to suit each student’s preferences. Some of these programs are:

PPL (Private Pilot License): comprises 8 subjects which include the Flight Training program. It contains a minimum of 60 hours (45 hours dual – 15 hours solo as a Pilot in Command).

Night Rating: comprises theoretical knowledge instruction and at least 14 hours of flight time, including flight with 14 takeoffs and landings.

Instrument Rating: allowed to conduct flight training for the issuing of the Private Pilot License (PPL), Night Rating, Recreational Pilot Permit (RPP), and the Commercial Pilot License (CPL).

Multi-Engine: theoretical training covering the Multi-Engine operation. You’ll get to complete 6 hours of flight training.

CPL (Commercial pilot license): comprises 9 subjects. This license aims to train pilots to become co-pilot on multi-pilot/multi-engine aircraft in commercial air transport and to obtain the CPL(A)/IR and ATP theory license.

How to find a reputable flight school?

After looking at what makes flying schools successful, it is time to get to know the actual school itself.

You might ask yourself: Why should I trust this school? How can I be assured I receive excellent training?

No need to worry! We’ve got you covered!

Safety:

Students’ safety and protection during training are dependent upon the safety and quality of equipment used to train them, along with the choice of a professional trainer, as we mentioned before.

Whenever you wish, you can simply ask about this school because the Federal Aviation Administration knows about each school, its safety, and quality.

Quality:

The quality of a flight school is measured by the safety and maintenance of the equipment as well as the degree of experience of the instructors and their workers.

Once enrolled in the flight academy, you’ll have to rent aircraft for your lessons, so you’ll want them to be safe and trusty.

Experience:

Experience is a key factor when you are choosing your flight school. The more years of experience, the higher the quality and the more safety and security measures.
